The Technology Evolution of a 33-Year Legacy
A journey that began with knitwear and yarn in Malatya in 1993 now converges across two cities, two disciplines, and one vision. For thirty-three years, İntem Triko learned the language of knitting yarn. It mastered the craft. It produced millions of garments for global brands. It built an industrial force: 30,000 square metres of production space, over 800 skilled workers, 10,000 kilograms of yarn transformed into fabric every single day.
But the real transformation began with the courage to go beyond the thread.

Every morning, as the machines begin turning in Malatya, a laboratory in Istanbul isolates lignin from hemp waste. While technical knitwear is produced across gauges from 3 to 14 in Malatya, boron compounds are being integrated into polymer matrices at nanoscale in Istanbul. Malatya produces. Istanbul discovers. Together, they form a vertically integrated innovation platform — from yarn to garment.

We are not searching for alternatives to fossil-based chemicals — we are developing bio-based solutions to replace them. We extract lignin from hemp hurd and return it to textiles as flame retardant, UV barrier, and antimicrobial finish. We derive carbon fibre precursors from waste biomass.
